Exspectamus Puzzle Text.png

Puzzle starts from developers post:

" Extra resources for delivering lore have always been somewhat of a challenge. Sometimes it takes us longer than other times. Planning time and the effort required can be hard to justify for something that is sort of just for fun. Especially when we have something we are trying to convey in the lore. Coordinating things in such a way that is worth our time and yours has always been a labour of love. Together, we have come up with some new methods to make this fun and engaging for all of us. As you will see, this will come in different forms and at different times. Many of you will be interested. Understandably, some of you may not. Still, we hope that the result is more of lore that you love and a fun way to pass the time between updates."

The letters "Ex" highlighted without context make it clear that something needs to be done with them. Combining "Ex" with all the uppercase letters in the message and the last letter in the message produces the word "Exspectamus" If you use the word "Exspectamus" as part of the link, you will get to the puzzle web site https://exspectamus.dontstarvetogether.com/ You'll be asked to log in to your Klei account. After that, you'll be taken to a page with a burning Voxola factory.

1st bit

Clicking on the moon takes you to the daytime version of the page. You can return to the nighttime version by clicking on the sun. If you click on the factory window in the daytime version of the page, a panel with a table will appear at the bottom. At the time of the puzzle's release, there was an hourglass there. After that player will get 750 Klei Coins on account. At the time of the puzzle's release, two synchronized countdowns appeared in the page logs (opened with the F12 key). One read "Fire countdown:" followed by a numerical value equal to or less than 1, indicating how much time remained. The second read "Hourglass countdown:" followed by a numerical value equal to or less than 1, indicating how much time remained. Depending on the state of the timer, the fire gradually moved down the page.

2nd bit (Night)

After both timers expired, the logs said "Fire countdown ended". (9th of October)

In night page сlicking on the stone in the lower right corner will reveal a panel with Wagstaff and two buckets. Clicking on the tree in the new panel will reveal a panel with the tree, Wagstaff, and tools. Clicking on the right bucket and then the left bucket will reveal a panel with the tree with sap flowing into the bucket. Clicking on the bubble next to Wagstaff will play Wagstaff's voice from the original game. After this, the value "Sap drip countdown:" appeared in the page logs, along with a number reflecting how much time was left until the release of the next part of the puzzle.

2nd bit (Day)

After both timers expired, the logs said "Hourglass countdown: 0". (9th of October) That means that the user can click on ended hourglasses. (If the user completes the puzzle but does not reach the point with the clock, then at this stage the clock will not appear and the page will refresh as if the user had already clicked on it.) After that there will appear some new comics panels.

Water drop from Panel 2 shows that there is something on panel below. On Panel 4 user can see some hided letter.

Letters can be put together into a word "Manifestum". If you count comic panels (not including table panel and Voxolo panel) you will find that there is 26 panels, the same number as the letters in the English alphabet. You need to turn letters from "Manifestum" into the numbers and click the comic panels in order corresponding to the letters. So you need to click panels: 13-1-14-9-6-5-19-20-21-13. That will open new panels:

You need to turn letters from "Wagstaff" into the numbers and click the comic panels in order corresponding to the letters. So you need to click panels: 23-1-7-19-20-1-6-6. That will open new panels:

At the time of the puzzle's release, after all these steps, an hourglass appeared on comics panel with a table. After that the player also got 200 Klei Coins on account.

3rd bit (Day)

After both timers expired, the logs said "Hourglass countdown: 0". (10th of November) That means that the user can click on the ended hourglasses. (If the user completes the puzzle but does not reach the point with the clock, then at this stage the clock will not appear and the page will refresh as if the user had already clicked on it.) There will appear panel number 8, and player can click on small piece of paper on it

After clicking on it, paper will appear on comic panel with table. If user click on it, it will show content of paper. To close it, the user can click on the table. Paper will show a diagram of a socket and a number of circles beneath them, separated by lines. The circles show the number of steps of the socket in each round. The lines divide the circles within a round.

  • The 1st sockets should be clicked as 1st/3rd/3rd/1st
  • The 2nd sockets should be clicked as 3rd/1st/2nd/2nd
  • The 3rd sockets should be clicked as 2nd/2nd/1st (By the process of elimination, we can understand that there should be "3rd")

So the order you need to click sockets will be: 1-3-2-2-3-1-3-2-1-1-2-3

If everything was done correctly, the sockets will no longer be able to be disconnected or reconnected. And the control panel from panel 8 will become clickable.
