The Notional Fabricator is a crafting station that grants access to the Fabrication Filter. Items crafted at the Notional Fabricator cannot be prototyped.

The Notional Fabricator shows up on Hermit Island after Crystal Deerclops, Armored Bearger and possessed Varg have been killed at least once. When approaches, the Grainy Transmission will appear and prompt the player to evict the Crabby Hermit with a Map of Totally Uninhabited Island. Finish this task will unlock Substrate Extrapolator and then players can use Substrate Extrapolators to expand the Hermit Island into an octagonal shape. After finishing building, the Phasmo-Encapsulator will be unlocked.
