Polly Roger's Hat is a Hat Item exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced in The Curse of Moon Quay update. Crafted with a Captain's Tricorn, Saffron Feather and Black Flag in the Clothing Filter. Can be sewn with a Sewing Kit or a Trusty Tape. The blueprint can be acquired from a Pirate Stash.

When the Hat is equipped, a parrot named Polly Roger appears.

Polly Roger is a bird that flies to a player equipped with Polly Roger's hat. Flying after the player Polly Roger picks up items from the ground within a 3.75 turf radius and brings them to the player's inventory. Polly Roger prioritizes items within this range that are farthest away from the player. It cannot pick up certain items, similar to the Lazy Forager, such as trap items or living mobs.

It is possible for certain mobs like Hounds to attack and even kill Polly Roger. After death the corresponding hat will have its cutlass emblem replaced by two crosses, indicating that its Polly Roger is dead and on cooldown, similar to how the Eye Bone does with Chester. It takes a full day for Polly Roger to respawn. If you despawn Polly Roger by unequipping the Hat it will return with the same health it had before despawning.

Tips

• Polly Roger is useful for picking up items found in the Ocean such as seeds or Messages in Bottles.
  • This can be especially useful when travelling on a boat with sails, as Polly Roger can grab items away from the boat's course without the need to slow the boat down.
• To keep Polly Roger alive, simply unequip the hat if you are close to aggressive enemies or enemies that deal area of effect damage.
