The Soul Jar is an item exclusive to Don't Starve Together. It can only be crafted by Wortox after unlocking the "Soul Jar" skill, and it requires 1 Empty Bottle, 2 Marble, and 1 Red Gem to craft. It allows Wortox to store up to 40 Souls inside. The Soul Jar can only be kept in the inventory and cannot be stored in any containers. When left on the ground or carried by someone without the Soul Jar skill, it will leak 1 Soul every 30 seconds.

If Wortox opens the Soul Jar with a Soul Echo active, the Soul Echo will end instantly.

When hammered, it drops 3-5 Souls like they were dropped by Wortox. One Soul Jar can be hammered 3 times, after that it will collapse and drop all souls, an Empty Bottle, a Marble and a Red Gem.

Overflowing Greed.png Overflowing Greed

Allows Wortox with the "Overflowing Greed" skill to increase maximum Souls held by 5 for each Soul Jar in his inventory.

The max stack size in any given slot is 40 Souls, which can be reached by holding 4 Soul Jars, but there is no cap to this. Meaning, multiple stacks of Souls can be held in the inventory if Wortox is carrying 5 or more Soul Jars. The maximum Souls that Wortox can have are 80 Souls in inventory and 520 Souls in Soul Jars.

Covetous Collector.png Covetous Collector

If Wortox has the "Covetous Collector" skill unlocked, Knabsack and Soul Damage is boosted based on how many Souls Wortox has in his inventory and Soul Jar, up to a maximum of +100% for the Knabsack and +25% for Soul Damage at 100 Souls.

Prototype.png Tips

  • The Soul Jar will never allow Wortox to take out more Souls than he can hold, in order to avoid Soul Overloading. When taking taking half of the Souls out of the Jar, it will only take half of how many Souls Wortox can currently hold.
  • When dropped on the ground, Soul Jars can be shared between players, provided they all have the Soul Jar skill. Souls can only be put inside when the Soul Jar is in Wortox's inventory, but while on the ground it can be freely opened and taken from by multiple Wortox players at once. This is the only way Wortox can share Souls with other Wortox players.
  • Opening the Soul Jar cancels Wortox's current active Soul Echo. This can be utilized in combination with the Soul Decoy skill in order to create multiple Soul Decoys in rapid succession.
