The Substrate Extrapolator is a craftable item introduced in the Hostile Takeover update. It gets unlocked after moving the Crabby Hermit away from Hermit Island by giving her a Map of Totally Uninhabited Island. It requires a Notional Fabricator to craft.

The Substrate Extrapolator is a special type of turf kit that can only be placed on the Ocean tiles adjacent to the Hermit Island. When holding the Substrate Extrapolators, available building locations will be highlighted.

After placing all 76 Substrate Extrapolators, the Undisclosed Construct will appear on the Hermit Island and the Phasmo-Encapsulator crafting recipe for will be unlocked at the Notional Fabricator. Crafting the required 76 Substrate Extrapolators requires 19 Cut Stone and 19 Scrap.

Substrate

The Substrate is similar to Dock Kit that can turn Ocean tiles into land. However, it cannot be destroyed in any way.
