The Twintailed Heart is an item exclusive to Don't Starve Together. It can only be crafted by Wortox after unlocking the "Lifebringer I" skill and requires 10 Souls to craft. It works similarly to the Telltale Heart, reviving dead players when given to their ghost by another player. While it is a Wortox-exclusive craft, any character is able to use it to revive another.

After use, the living player will gain 80 Sanity Meter.png. However, the revived player will suffer a 25% maximum health penalty, which can be removed with a Booster Shot.

The Twintailed Heart spoils after 10 days and does not produce Rot when it expires.

Lifebringer II.png Lifebringer II

Lifebringer II can be unlocked after obtaining Lifebringer I. The skill makes the Twintailed Heart no longer give a maximum health penalty after revival, when given by a player with the skill.

Lifebringer III.png Lifebringer III

Lifebringer III can be unlocked after obtaining Lifebringer I and II. When used by other players, it teleports them to the Wortox that made it, consuming the item. This only works if the players are in the same Shard, meaning that the Twintailed Heart will not work if one player is on the Surface and the other is in Caves.

Wortox who created it can right click to squeeze to release the Souls in it. The released Souls will heal the same as dropped Souls and cannot be collected. The amount of Souls dropped ranges from 1-10 depending on its spoilage.

Prototype.png Tips

  • Twintailed Hearts can be preserved with Bundling Wraps. This allows Wortox to mass-produce many Twintailed Hearts at once, and then save them for later use.
    • If using the Lifebringer III skill, this allows Wortox to give many Twintailed Hearts to other players to be used for transport without the worry of letting them spoil.
    • This also allows Wortox to utilize the full effect of the burst heal from Lifebringer III later on.
  • Twintailed Hearts can be used to prevent Soul Overload by crafting one when approaching the maximum Soul capacity, if the player does not have spare Soul Jars. This is especially helpful when fighting large groups of mobs such as Spiders when it might be otherwise difficult to drop enough Souls in time. This also allows the Souls to be used later instead of simply being discarded.
  • Lifebringer II only prevents maximum health penalty if the player giving the Twintailed Heart to a dead player has the skill. This means that a Wortox without the skill can create Twintailed Hearts, and a different Wortox player can revive others with them while retaining the benefits of Lifebringer II. However, this applies the other way around as well, making this a double-edged sword.
    • This also means that, while any character is able to use the Twintailed Heart to revive another player, it will always induce a health penalty when not used by Wortox. Because of this, it is advised that Wortox be the one to revive them instead if he has the Lifebringer II skill.
