A while back, Klei was considering adding a heat system to summer like cold is to winter, but the discontinuing of semi-weekly updates which concludes this month (see here ) ended this. It's unlikely they will introduce a whole new mechanic on the level of Sanity in a DL update (which is the plan after the next and final update,) but it's possible, but they are not going to introduce a new mechanic not worked on as of yet, sorry to write.
