Don't Starve Wiki:Blocking

This is a policy page for Don't Starve Wiki. It contains widely accepted standards that editors should normally follow. Any significant changes must require community consensus. You can make a discussion in forum.

Blocking (Banning is also under this category) is the method by which administrators technically prevent users from editing the wiki. Blocks may be applied to user accounts, to IP addresses, and to ranges of IP addresses, for either a definite or an indefinite time. Blocked users can continue to access wiki, but cannot edit any page (including their own user pages), except (in most cases) their own user talk pages.

You may request a blocking of any users or ips if they consistently destroy the integrity and content of Don't Starve game Wiki. You may leave a message on the Admin's message wall and tell the reason of blocking. You must show the evidence of the user misbehaving and that user's username.

Blocking duration

Depending on the seriousness of the offense, the blocking duration is usually as followed. Admins will act on their discretion from case to case.

Regarding vandalism:	First instance	Second instance	Third instance	Repeated
Registered users	Warning	1 month	3 months	Infinite
IP addresses	Warning	1 month	3 months	6 months

When should you request for blocking

When you have found users committing the follow actions, you may consider to request for blocking.

• Abusing multiple accounts
• Incivility (comment / talk)
• Inserting gibberish into pages
• Spam
• Unacceptable username
• Vandalism
  • Disruptive writing
  • Intentionally inserting false information
  • Removing content from pages
  • Inappropriate words
• Flaming or insulting people
• Expose other people's personal information without permission
• Violate Don't Starve Wiki Rules
• Violate Wikia's Terms of Use
