perhaps charlie turned INTO the darkness of dont starve...that explains how a light source and even night vision can stop her from attacking...if you cannot see the darkness...or if you are not IN the darkness...charlie has no power to attack you...and maybe the reason she attacks maxwell is because she is enraged or blinded by her transformation...
