There are already a few "Mini-bosses" such as Krampus and Clockwork Monsters. Krampus you may get the Krampus Sack (which is only dropped by Krampus/Mod Spawning) Even though Clockwork Monsters drop gears which are also found via graves, the Wooden Thing is I guess Loot only dropped/found by Clockwork Monsters...So we already have Mini-Bosses in DS, the only difference is no gained xp...But like Anemic said lots of players have maXed XP.
