I've mentioned this before, the Whip does NOT tame beefalo. It may have done that during the twitch stream but for whatever reason it has been removed.
The whip's only special use is the super crack which causes mob's to drop their targets. I've read the prefab.lua for the whip and beefalo, there is nothing which causes the whip to tame beefao.
