Well, it's nice of them to give us a means of getting living logs without having to summon Treeguards…I spent an entire night with less than thirty sanity because I had to make myself as insane as possible while cutting down every dead evergreen I found in a thick forest - I now have about two hundred stumps, a lot of nightmare fuel, and only twelve living logs to show for it. It IS true, by the way, that Treeguards are more likely to spawn if you're insane…I got two by going insane and cutting down tons of trees…but it's still difficult, so I'm glad for these totally normal trees happening. :)
