Well, if the devs of DS want to keep us motivated to play the game, they have to remove familiarity. Familiarity inspires comfort, and we're supposed to be surviving in the wilderness. So if we can see what is coming, we aren't too worried. It makes the game more fun, and more like the experience it provides.


That is why you research mobs before running into a cave full of the things.
