To last guy that commented: When you set hounds to less, usually you won't get attacked until atleast Day 50. With the Blue hounds you are concerned with, they are "Set Pieces/Mobs." They're always going to spawn with MacTusk. And my theory concerning their rapid multiplying is that they don't stop spawning. I think they respawn every 2 days or so, but in yours and many other cases they respawned even though there were already hounds present. Also, I would recommend that you don't set hounds to less, as their teeth can be quite valuable.
