If anybody is wondering about how Year of the Varg works, here is a brief explanation: When the player spawns in the world, they are able to build a Varg Shrine (found at the bottom of the Structures tab) for 8 Gold Nuggets and 2 Boards. If the player creates a Varg Shrine, it is unusable until the player inserts a Torch. Note that you should take it out of your inventory and left-click it to insert it; Do not keep it in your hand or right click at all. It will ignite the shrine. After placing a torch in the shrine, the player is able to access certain gifts which can be aquired with Lucky Gold Nuggets. However, it is imposible to obtain Lucky Gold Nuggets without killing Clay Hounds and Clay Vargs. To fight a Clay Hound or Varg, you must have a active (torch holding) shrine in the world (Note that the torch will run out just as it does in your hand) and investigate some suspicious dirt piles. As long as there is an active shrine while you uncover the first pile, it is a 100% chance that at the end will be a group of clay enemies. To activate the fight, stand next to the Clay Varg (the big one). Be sure to have plenty of armor, healing items, and hard-hitting weapons on you, as the Clay Hounds' damage stacks up easily. After killing all the little hounds, you can take on the Clay Varg. Clay Hounds have a 12.5% chance of dropping a Hound's Tooth and a 10% chance of dropping a Red Pouch. Clay Vargs have a 100% chance of dropping 2 Hounds Tooths and 5 Red Pouches. Unwrapping a Red Pouch will give the player one Lucky Gold Nugget, which can be used towards the shrine gifts.
