書籍類是一個只有薇克伯頓可以使用的特殊類。讓玩家可以合成書本，而薇克伯頓、麥斯威爾可以閱讀書籍來觸發特定的事件，但會扣除相應的理智（並且麥斯威爾閱讀時消耗的理智比薇克伯頓多）。

• 沃特也可以閱讀書籍，但只會增加或減少理智。

• 玻璃綠洲
• 各種池子
• 豬王
• 海星
• 遠古大門（如果用控制台刷在地表）

Applied Horticulture grows crops and plants within 7.5 Tiles instantly, while Trees grow one stage every use. It does not work on unfertilized or withered crops or plants. Some plants, such as grass, do not grow in Winter.

• 產生4枚龍蛋隨機掉落在玩家位置.
• 可使用5次並且沒有理智消耗.
• 作為《在觸手之上》在船難中的替代品.
• 生成代碼: "book_meteor"
• 掉落的龍蛋有時會在陸地上形成岩漿池。當岩漿池熄滅時會留下圓石、灰燼和木炭，岩漿池可以用冰立即熄滅，這樣會使其留下一塊黑曜石。這使得薇克伯頓可以更加方便的獲得石頭、木炭以及黑曜石。

你知道嗎

• 《末日將至》一書中Ia! Ia!這句話源自於Iä! Iä! Cthulhu fhtagn!，出自以霍華德·菲利普·洛夫克拉夫特小說世界為基礎的《克蘇魯神話》(Cthulhu Mythos)。
• 使用書本會導致理智降低說明了這些書裏面包含了人類不應該觸碰的知識，像是《死者之書》(Necronomicon)或是《納克特抄本》(Pnakotic Manuscripts by H. P. Lovecraft)。
• 旺達在周圍鳥類過多時使用[[File:Birds of the World.png|24px|link=世界鳥類大全]][[世界鳥類大全]]的文本可能說明開發者希望讓旺達如同麥斯威爾一樣獲得讀書的能力，但在現在的版本中，旺達並不能讀書。
