黑曜石是海难DLC中的一种物品，用于制作更为先进的工具、武器以及火坑。由于黑曜石巨砾不可被十字镐挖掘，玩家只能通过使用火药或椰子炸弹来摧毁它以获得黑曜石。使用冰来熄灭火山池也可以获得黑曜石。
在火山法杖奇遇的周围也放置有黑曜石；玩家还可以使用拖网在旱季（火山季）时打捞，其中浅海中获得的几率最高；使用赌博机则有14.3%的概率能够获得黑曜石。
黑曜石物品可以通过火山中的黑曜石工作台或者思维风暴帽子来制作。
