盐盒 是多人版饥荒的独有建筑且在旧神归来加入。 盐盒可以在食物类标签中找到，制作需要十个盐晶，一个蓝宝石和一个石砖且须用炼金引擎解锁原型。
类似于冰箱，盐盒可用于储存最多9组食物。 但是，它不能储存烹饪锅食品、可播种的物品（例如种子）和不能被煮熟的物品（例如蜂蜜或冰）。 盐盒延缓食物75％的保质期（对比冰箱延缓了50％），食物的保质期变为原来的四倍。
