The Birdcage（鳥かご）は鳥(Redbird、Crow、Snowbird)を捕まえておくことが出来るStructureです。 材料はGold Nuggets6個、Papyrus2枚、Seeds2つ。Alchemy Engineでのプロトタイプも必要です。 生きた鳥を捕まえるにはBird Trapを使いましょう。
Birdcageの中の鳥に餌として生の野菜(BerriesとMandrakesを除く)を与えるとその野菜のCrop Seedsを1～2個、さらに50%の確率で通常のSeedsがドロップされます。 この方法で手に入れた特別なSeedsをFarmで使用すると対応した野菜が生えてきます。 SeedsとCrop Seedsも餌として与えることが出来ますが、何も入手できません。
肉類を与えるとEggを入手できます。そのままでも焼いても食べれますし、Crock PotでBacon and Eggsを作る材料にもなります。 調理してあればMonster MeatもEggに交換できるため、Monster Meatを無害な物に変換出来る設備として考えることも出来ます。 腐りかけのEggを与えても新しいEggを出してくれます。

Don't Starve Together
Don't Starve togetherではBirdcageの中の鳥は夜の間に眠るようになり、その間は何も食べません。また、長時間放置すると餓死するようになりました。 Crop seedsはBirdcageの鳥に与えることはできなくなり、Seedsを与えると確率でGuanoを落とします。このGuanoは拾うまで見た目が小さいですが、効果は変わりません。
トリビア
- ひとつのBirdcageにつき1羽しか入れることは出来ません。別の鳥を入れようとすれば中身を交換できますが、3種類のどの鳥を入れても見た目以外に差はまったくありません。
- 上記以外の食料を持ってBirdcageをマウスオーバーしても"Give"と表示されますが、食べることはありません。
備考
- 古い肉をDrying RackでJerkyにし、さらにJerkyが腐りかけたら鳥に与えて新鮮なEggに変えることで消費期限を大幅に伸ばすことが出来ます。
- 肉類を与えて手に入れた卵は完全に腐敗しない限り、調理して再度与えることで新鮮な卵へと変換することができます。これにより、卵を永遠に新鮮に保つことが可能です。
バグ
- When the birdcage is examined at night with a bird in it, Wilson will say "Awwww, he's asleep." even though the bird inside is awake, and can still be fed. It has also been noted that even when no bird is present, he will still say this.
- 水際に設置したbirdcageの鳥に野菜をあげた場合、Seedsが水に落ちて消滅する場合があります。
