Salt Formation (塩の形成体)は、Don't Starve Togetherにおける「Return of Them」アップデートにて追加された自然発生するオブジェクトです。動かない障害物として塩の浅瀬に存在します。船がぶつかると、船の体力にダメージを与えます。十分なダメージを受けている場合、塩の形成体自身も壊れます。
塩の形成体には形態が跡地→小→中→大と4段階あります。小~中段階では1つの塩の結晶と1つの石を採掘できます。大段階では1つの塩の結晶(50%の確率でもう1つ)と1つの石を採掘できます。各段階ごとにつるはしで10回採掘する必要があります。完全に採掘を終え、跡地となった状態ではもう採掘はできません。7から11日経つと現段階の次の段階へと再生します。塩の結晶は水に浮きますが、石は海に沈んでしまうためいくつかは回収できないでしょう。
