Non-renewable resources

This page lists all non-renewable items in the game that can be used up or their only sources can be depleted. This does not include items and structures further crafted from these items. Nearly all resources which were once non-renewable in Don't Starve have been made renewable in Don't Starve Together.

All items that are not included in this list are renewable resources. Renewable resources can still end up unavailable if the mob or plant providing it goes extinct.

	Natural Turfs	Digging the ground with a Pitchfork All Cave Turfs are renewable by regenerating Caves, Can be crafted with the Terra Firma Tamper or dropped by Tentapillars.
	Grass Tuft	Digging a Grass Tuft with a Shovel Renewable through regenerating Caves, Renewable in Don't Starve Together's Endless mode from the Florid Postern
	Sapling	Digging a Sapling with a Shovel Renewable through regenerating Caves, Renewable in Don't Starve Together's Endless mode from the Florid Postern
	Berry Bush	Digging a Berry Bush with a Shovel Renewable through regenerating Caves, Renewable in Shipwrecked DLC from Slot Machine, Renewable in Hamlet DLC from Miss Sow's Floral Arrangements, Renewable in Don't Starve Together's Endless mode from the Florid Postern
	Spiky Bush	Digging a Spiky Bush with a Shovel
	Viney Bush	Digging a Viney Bush with a Shovel
	Coffee Plant	Digging a Coffee Plant with a Shovel
	Elephant Cactus	Digging a Elephant Cactus with a Shovel
	Nettle Vine	Digging a Nettle Vine with a Shovel
	Thulecite	Found numerous ways in the Ruins Renewable through regenerating Caves, renewable through ruins regeneration and the Tidy Hidey-Hole.
	Yellow Gem Orange Gem Green Gem	Found numerous ways in the Ruins Renewable through regenerating Caves, Unreliably renewable (0.02%) in the Reign of Giants DLC from Tumbleweeds, Renewable in Don't Starve Together through various methods
	Slurper Pelt	Dropped by Slurpers. Renewable through regenerating Caves, Renewable in the Reign of Giants DLC from Tumbleweeds, Renewable via ruins regeneration
	Cat Tail	Dropped by Catcoons on death. Renewable via Hollow Stump refreshing
	Eye Bone	Found randomly in the world. However, cannot be crafted into any other items or destroyed, so one will always be present in the world.
	Ring Thing	Found randomly in the world
	Crank Thing	Found randomly in the world
	Box Thing	Found randomly in the world

Renewable resources that can go extinct

	Log	Dropped by cutting Trees. Some trees are non-renewable outright; others require manual replanting. Trees regenerate along with the rest of the Caves through the Seed of Ruin, Regenerates via Regrowth
	Rabbit	Live rabbits spawn from Rabbit Holes, which can be irreversibly destroyed by digging. Rabbits can still appear during Earthquakes, Rabbits can still appear during Earthquakes, and Rabbit Holes regenerated via Regrowth
	Bee	Live Bees spawn from Bee Hives and Bee Boxes. The former is completely non-renewable, and the latter cannot be crafted without Bees. Unreliably renewable (0.1%, 3×) via Tumbleweed. Need four to craft a Bee Box
	Beefalo	Spawn from world generation and mating. At least one beefalo must be left alive for the herd to repopulate.
	Pig	Spawn from their Pig House, which requires Pig Skin to craft if destroyed. Pig Skin is only renewable because Pigs respawn. Pig Skin?s dropped by Vampire Bats from periodic attacks may be used to build Pig Houses, preventing them from going fully extinct, The Moon Stone summons Werepigs during its event which retain their normal drops, preventing Pigs from going fully extinct
	Flower	Spawns from world generation, by planting Butterflies, and by homeless bees pollinating. Butterflies are only renewable because they spawn from flowers in the first place. Bees also need flowers to pollinate in the first place. In all DLCs and DST, Rain spawns new flowers.
	Red Cap Green Cap Blue Cap	The Caps are obtained either from Mushrooms or Mushtrees. The latter is outright non-renewable. The former can be irreversibly destroyed by digging or fire. Mushrooms and Mushtrees regenerate along with the rest of the Caves through the Seed of Ruin, Mushtrees regenerate via Regrowth, but not regular Mushrooms
