Lotus Flowers are edible Vegetable Items exclusive to the Hamlet DLC. They can be harvested from Lotus Plants found in the Lily Pond Biome. Raw or cooked, Lotus Flowers take 10 Days to spoil, and cannot be used in a Crock Pot. The Lotus Flower regrows in 5 days after it has been harvested.

Another way to obtain Lotus Flowers is through trawling in Hamlet Lily Ponds (3.92% chance).

Cooked Lotus Root is an edible Vegetable Food item made by Cooking a Lotus Flower on a CampfireFire Pit, or other viable source of fire. It restores the same stats as its raw counterpart except for Sanity, which it restores 3 times as much as its counterpart.

Prototype.png Tips

  • Eating Cooked Lotus Roots restores substantially more Sanity than eating the raw blossom, so cooking it is recommended.
  • Picking a Lotus Flower may spawn a Platapine, which will eat all other Lotus blossoms in the area.
  • To restore her hunger or sanity, Wickerbottom can mass-harvest Lotus Flowers using Applied Horticulture, with only minimal net decreases in sanity, if any.
  • Lotus Flowers, especially when cooked, are a great way to keep sanity at bay during the early game.

Placeholder.png Trivia

  • This item being a source of sanity may be a reference to the lotus-eaters in Greek mythology, who in the Odyssey ate plants referred to as a lotus and fell into a calming stupor.
