Raw Fish and Fish Steak were added to Don't Starve Together in the Return of Them beta branch. Any large Ocean Fish variant will drop Raw Fish. Additionally, Gnarwails and Rockjaws drop 4 Raw Fish when killed.

It can be used in multiple Crock Pot recipes, giving both a Fish Value and a half Meat Value. It is especially useful for the Surf 'n' Turf recipe since it complements both of its requirements, thus the remaining ingredients can be filled flexibly with whatever is more abundant. Raw Fish can also be dried on a Drying Rack to acquire Jerky.

Fish Steak is Raw Fish that has been cooked on a Campfire, Fire Pit, or Star. It can also be used in multiple Crock Pot recipes.

Usage

Tips

• Because of the fast spoilage time of Raw Fish and the fact it takes only a 1 Day to become Jerky, it is highly recommended to dry it on a Drying Rack if the player does not intend to consume it early.

Trivia

• Raw Fish was introduced to Don't Starve Together in the Hook, Line, and Inker update.
• Despite the name and appearance of Raw Fish in-game, a high majority of the mobs that drop the item are mammalian creatures; Whales and Gnarwails are actually marine mammals and the Tiger Shark is mainly mammalian despite also having shark traits. The only purely fish creatures that drop Raw Fish are the Ocean Fish.
