Crop Seeds are a specialized version of Seeds, used primarily for Farming. When planted in a Basic/Improved Farm, they produce the crop they are named after (for example, Carrot Seeds produce Carrots).

Crop Seeds can be obtained by feeding a Bird imprisoned in a Birdcage any raw Crop from Farm Plots (except Berries and Mandrake, which do not have Seeds). The Bird will drop 1–2 Crop Seeds per Crop fed, plus a 50% chance for 1 regular Seeds. Birds will not eat Crop Seeds.

When eaten, Crop Seeds provide 0.5 Health and 9.375 Hunger. Like regular Seeds, Crop Seeds spoil in 40 days, and they turn into Toasted Seeds when cooked.

In Don't Starve Together, Crop seeds have different visuals but they have the same functionality. Initially crop seeds have an assumed name related to their shape, once the player have accumulated enough knowledge by researching Farm Plant with a Gardeneer Hat their name change to the regular name.

They are obtained by harvesting Farm Plants, by hammering Giant Vegetables or by feeding a Vegetable to a Birdcage. The Birdcage drops only 1 seeds. The Lord of the Fruit Flies drops 4 to 8 plant seeds upon death.

There is a 33% chance that Carrats will drop Carrot Seeds upon death. Durian, Eggplant, Pumpkin, Onion, Garlic and Pepper seeds can be obtained by trading with a King of the Merms.

The Seed Pack-It with slow spoilage of any contained seeds by 50%.
