The Armored Bearger is a Boss Monster exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced in From Beyond. It is the reanimated corpse of a regular Bearger, possessed by a Brightshade Gestalt if a Lunar Rift is active in the world. Before the Brightshade Gestalt possesses the Bearger's Corpse, it can manually be lit on fire using a Torch, Fire Staff or similar to prevent the fight, similar to Horror Hounds.
The Armored Bearger is one of three lunar-mutated bosses which must be killed to complete the Grainy Transmission quest, upon the completion of which the player receives an empty Spark Ark.
The Armored Bearger, unlike the regular one, is aggressive towards the player regardless of the time of year, and also does not yawn.
The Armored Bearger uses the same swipe attack as Bearger, but if its target remains within the attack's range after the blow, Armored Bearger continues to swipe over and over again. In addition, the Armored Bearger also has the same on-cooldown area-of-effect attack as Bearger, slamming both paws into the ground and creating a shock wave.
After it takes 800 damage, the Armored Bearger possesses a new attack — a butt slam. If the player goes behind Armored Bearger's back, it performs this attack, trying to crush the character, as well as creating a shock wave and a crater centered around where it lands. Additionally, if the player is too far from the boss, it charges towards the player and does the butt slam when it catches up.
If Armored Bearger takes 2 hits from a Planar Damage weapon shortly after it does its butt slam, it is stunned for a short period of time, allowing the player to deal damage to it unhindered. This stun is possible with melee weapons, but is most easily achieved with a ranged weapon such as the Brightshade Staff or Howlitzer.
Once Armored Bearger has been stunned, it must take 800 damage again before it starts doing its butt slam attacks again.
