Sproutrocks are one of two ancient trees that can grow from a Surprising Seed. To grow a Sproutrock seed into a sapling, the seed must meet one of the following two conditions: it is currently Summer or the seed is planted on Rocky Turf. If both of these conditions are met but your character says that the seed can't grow when examined, it means that it is the seed for a Gloomthorn. Otherwise, the seed will grow into a Sproutrock Sapling after 3-7 days.

Once the seed has sprouted into a Sproutrock Sapling, it will only continue to grow if both of its conditions are met. If they are, it will turn into a Sproutrock after 8-12 days.

Sproutrocks will grow 3 Geode Fruits every 12 to 25 days, provided it is still on Rocky Turf.

The timer for Geode Fruit regrowth is set upon creation of the seed and will stay the same throughout its lifetime and every harvest. Mining the tree and replanting the seed will not change this regrowth timer, although it will be reduced by 25% in Spring.

Tips

• Maxwell's Shadow Servants will not chop or harvest the Sproutrocks.
