Archive Switch

The Archive Switch is a Set Piece exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced in Return of Them. It can be found in the Ancient Archive biome.

The Archive Switch consists of three Ornate Pedestals. Initially, two hold an Iridescent Gem, while the third is empty. Attempting to place any other gem results in a failure message, but adding a third Iridescent Gem activates the switch. This powers the Archive Chandeliers, Ancient Orchestrina, Ancient Guard Posts, and Fountain of Knowledge.

Activating the switch for the first time immediately sets the Nightmare Cycle to the Nightmare Phase, playing a sound across all underground biomes. Additionally, Nightmare Ramparts will permanently spawn in the Lunar Grotto. The power can be cut by removing an Iridescent Gem.

Ornate Pedestals are part of the Archive Switch. Iridescent Gems can be placed in each of the three Ornate Pedestals to activate the switch.
