Winona's Catapult

–Wurt

Winona's Catapult is a character-exclusive Structure craftable only by Winona in Don't Starve Together. It is found in the Weapons Filter, Structures Filter and Survivor Items Filter and requires 1 Trusty Tape, 3 Twigs, and 15 Rocks to craft.
In order to work, it must be deployed within the area-of-effect of a powered Winona's Generator or a Winona's G.E.M.erator. If the power source is removed in any way, such as by running out of fuel or by being destroyed, the Catapult will stop working until power is restored.
Winona's Catapult acts much like a Houndius Shootius: it will automatically attack mobs targeting the player or any mob that the player attempts to attack, except for Shadow Creatures. It attacks by flinging rocks at an arc towards its target, which means it can miss if the target is moving too quickly. Each rock deals 42.5 damage in a small radius, allowing it to hit groups of enemies.
Winona's Catapult can be attacked by Mobs and has 400 HP. The catapult repairs itself by 8.3 every 10 seconds.
Despite what its attack suggests, the catapult does not need ammunition, only power. It also cannot deal damage to Glommer, Chester, Friendly Fruit Fly, and the Houndius Shootius. The Catapults do not hurt friendly followers and walls.
The Catapults can hit and kill Fishes in the Ocean.
If Winona's Catapult does not attack for 30 seconds, it will switch to sleep mode, which will prevent Catapults from locking onto valid targets that come into range. Catapults can be "woken up" by any character by interacting with it, as well as by Winona using her Handy Remote if she has Portability unlocked, which causes them to return to attacking hostile targets as usual.
Redeploying a Catapult will fully restore its health.
Portability
Allows Winona to dismantle and pick up Catapults in item form, letting her move them after initial placement. Also, when crafting, it gives Winona's Catapult as item.
Energy-Saver
Catapults will no longer consume energy while in sleep mode.
Rapid-Fire
Catapults will increase their firing rate by 5% (Level I), 10% (Level II), and 20% (Level III).
Explosive Volley
Catapult projectiles' area-of-effect will be 25% (Level I), 50% (Level II), and 100% (Level III) larger. This affects the radius of the vine patches laid by Shadow Strike.
Pure Horror Generator
Allows Winona's Generators to be fueled with Pure Horror. Catapults powered by a generator fueled with Pure Horror will deal 30 physical + 17 planar damage, as well as an additional +10% damage to Lunar Aligned creatures.
Brilliance G.E.M.erator
Allows Winona's G.E.M.erators to be fueled with Pure Brilliance. Catapults powered by a G.E.M.erator fueled with Pure Brilliance will deal 30 physical + 17 planar damage, as well as an additional +10% damage to Shadow Aligned creatures.
Handy Remote
Arm Catapult
Winona who has Portability can use her Handy Remote to Arm Catapults, remotely turning her Catapults on and off. All Catapults in the area of effect will be turned on simultaneously, effectively exchanging the time spent manually arming each one with a token amount of charge from her remote.
Target
Winona who has Precise Targeting can use her Handy Remote to Target an area, causing all Catapults to fire a boulder at the selected area.
Barrage
Winona who has Barrage can use her Handy Remote to command Catapults to Barrage, causing all catapults within range to fire 50% faster for 20 seconds.
Shadow Strike
Winona who has Shadow Strike can use her Handy Remote to command Catapults to fire a Shadow Strike at the selected area. Shadow Strike deals 0 physical damage and 30 planar damage. Areas where Shadow Strikes land are infested with thorny vines for 5 minutes that deal damage every 1.5 seconds to land enemies that attempt to move over it. These vines do not affect friendly targets or followers such as Chester or Wurt's recruited Merms, nor enemies that fly such as Bee Queen or Batilisks. Enemies don't need to actually cover ground in order to be affected, only attempt to move; if an enemy attempts to run directly into a wall, they will still take damage even though they're not actually traveling, though curiously enemies trapped by Maxwell's Shadow Prison are exceptions to this rule.
Shadow Strike will work only with catapults charged at least partially by Pure Horror (via Pure Horror Generator).
Enlightened Strike
Winona who has Enlightened Strike can use her Handy Remote to command Catapults to fire an Enlightened Strike at the selected area. Enlightened Strike deals 0 physical damage and 120 planar damage. Enlightened Strike destroys natural objects in the area of effect in one shot such as Boulders, Trees, Saplings, Stone Fruit Bushes and their Fruits, planted Crops of any size, and harvested Giant Crops, causing them to drop the items they would normally drop if destroyed via tools (ie, saplings will drop in item form as though they were dug up, as well as dropping twigs if they were not plucked prior to being destroyed). It deals no damage to most player-made structures such as Chests or Walls, though there are some noteworthy exceptions that do get destroyed, such as Wurt's Merm Flort-ifications or Statues.
Enlightened Strike will work only with catapults charged at least partially by Pure Brilliance (via Brilliance G.E.M.erator)—note that while Enlightened Shards are lunar-aligned and can prevent Pure Brilliance from burning out when using Enlightened Strike, it cannot provide the appropriate fuel on its own; this skill requires at least one Pure Brilliance specifically to be slotted in.
Planar Strike
Winona who has both Enlightened Strike and Shadow Strike can use her Handy Remote to command Catapults to fire a Planar Strike, which effectively combines the effects of Shadow Strike and Enlightened Strike. Planar Strike borrows the damage against natural objects from Enlightened Strike, the vine patches from Shadow Strike, the planar damage type from both, and the 10% damage bonus against enemies of either alignment from using both types of fuel. Planar Strike deals damage depends on what catapults are being powered by the generators.
Planar Strike will work only with catapults charged simultaneously by both Pure Brilliance from Winona's G.E.M.erator and Pure Horror from Winona's Generator.

Tips
- A single Winona's Catapult, provided it can attack uninterrupted, will deal 1020 damage per minute.
- A group of catapults can make an effective line of defense for a base if positioned behind several Walls. They are effective for hordes such as Hounds or other forms of mass farming, provided the player can consistently fuel the connected generator.
- While it might sound effective against Bosses, it is only useful against those that will not cause structural damage. For example, it is questionable against the Deerclops which purposefully targets structures, and the Ancient Guardian which destroys structures in one hit when it charges through them; bosses like the Dragonfly or the Lord of the Fruit Flies are fair game. Certain catapult upgrades can, however, make some bosses easier, such as the Enlightened G.E.M.erator's environment destruction obliterating the Toadstool's Sporecaps in a single hit or the Pure Horror Generator's vine patches destroying the Ancient Fuelweaver's Woven Shadows as soon as they try to reach the boss.
- Like the Houndius Shootius, catapults and a generator can be placed on a boat near the coast in order to cheese most bosses if the player wishes to.
- This does not work against the Celestial Champion, as it will attempt to primarily target catapults on boats in its third phase, or Crab King, for hopefully obvious reasons.
Trivia
- Winona's Catapult, alongside her other gadgets and the Engineering Tab, was introduced in her Character Update as part of the character overhaul for Don't Starve Together.
