The Trusty Slingshot is a Character-specific Item craftable only by Walter from the Weapons Filter and Survivor Items Filter using one Twigs and two Mosquito Sacks. Walter also starts the game with one Trusty Slingshot in his inventory. Trusty Slingshots can only be used by Walter.

The Trusty Slingshot is used to shoot Slingshot Ammo with various damages and effects. When equipped, it opens a special slot for ammo. Its attack speed is 0.9 seconds per hit (not counting the pre-cast swing), which is half as fast as regular melee weapons that hit every 0.45 seconds.

Attacks from the Trusty Slingshot will not draw aggro if the target is fighting something else.

Walter can unlock Slingshot skills to customize it for various benefits. Burnt or deconstructed Slingshots will drop equipped ammo and Slingshot Parts.
