The Life Jacket is a craftable item introduced in Shipwrecked DLC, found in the Nautical Tab. It requires a Science Machine to prototype, and can be crafted using 2 Cloth, 2 Vine, and 3 Empty Bottles. When worn it will save the player from Drowning in the Ocean if their Boats reach 0 durability while sailing. When the Life Jacket saves the player, the screen will fade to black, and the player Character will appear on the nearest Beach with enough Cut Grass and Logs to make a Log Raft.

Tips

• If the Boat that the player is using is at a low durability, or they intend to be on a long journey, a Life Jacket is a possible inventory item to stay safe. If the boat is at a critically low durability (e.g., 3%), one can quickly equip the Life Jacket.

Trivia

• Woodlegs used to have a perk identical to that of the Life Jacket. The perk was removed in the Seas the Day update.
