The Bottle Lantern is a Light Tab item exclusive to the Shipwrecked DLC. It requires an Alchemy Engine to prototype, and an Empty Bottle and 2 Bioluminescence to craft. It acts as a portable light source which can be wielded or placed on the ground, similar to Lanterns from the base game or Reign of Giants. If it is placed on the ground, it can be turned on and off at will. Bottle Lanterns can be refueled with Fireflies, Bioluminescence, Slurtle Slime, and Light Bulbs.

  • When placed on the ground, a Bottle Lantern, at full durability, can provide a small range of infinite light. This can happen by waiting for a Bottle Lantern to run out on the ground; when that happens, quit the current game session, relog the save slot with the same Bottle Lantern, and the Bottle Lantern will emit a low range light source. This can be undone by simply picking up the Bottle Lantern.
