Particulate Purifier
The Particulate Purifier is a Dress item introduced in Don't Starve: Shipwrecked DLC. It requires an Alchemy Engine to prototype, and 2 Empty Bottles, 3 Coral and 1 Jellyfish to craft. The Sewing Kit will repair 50% durability of this item.
When worn, it protects the player character from getting Poisoned by gas cloud attacks of Poisonous Holes and Stink Rays. However, it offers no protection against Poisoning via physical attacks of Poison Snakes, Poison Mosquitoes, or Spider Warriors.
Downloadable Content
In the Hamlet (HAM) DLC, the Particulate Purifier will grant immunity to the toxic gas in the Gas Rainforest, as well as the Noxious Cloud created by using the Bug B'Gone. It also grants protection against the effects of Hay Fever.
Tips
- WX-78 is immune to poison, therefore wearing a Particulate Purifier gives no benefits outside of Hamlet.
- The Particulate Purifier renders the Stink Rays completely harmless, making Stink Ray spawns a very good source of Monster Meat and Venom Glands.
Trivia
- Prior to the "Seas The Day!" update, this item was simply called "The Gas Mask", which functioned identically, except for a slightly different recipe and texture. Its description was "Why smell bad smells?", and it cost 2 Empty Bottles, 1 Cloth, and 1 Jellyfish.
- The Gas Mask also had a voice filter which would increase the pitch of a character's voice when saying something.
- The concept of the Gas Mask is reused in HAM, bearing a large visual resemblance as well as sharing the same name.
